Day 3 - Sioux Falls
We woke in Satakah Lake state park. The pop up tent slept great and Fern had plenty of room at our feet. We laid a thick mat across the truck longways for a ramp for her to scramble up to the house on the hill (aka tent on a truck). We made coffee, packed up camp and drove to Sioux Falls, the "most populated city" in South Dakota. This was of interest, as when walking down Main ST on a beautiful Sunday afternoon we only saw a handful of folks. Conclusion: if you need some private time move to SD.

One more note on Sioux Falls. It's downtown hosts a beautiful park with meandering waterfalls you and all 5 kids in the neighborhood can walk and play in. Its nice to see a city that gives it's prettiest feature to the people instead of the highest condo bidder. The entire town was hungover from a massive Pork Battle earlier that day so we were lucky to scavenge a pork panini and some cheese crackers before heading to camp.
Made it an hour west to Palisades State Park campsite. It's a truly beautiful campsite with shade, privacy and yet more pretty waters nearby to explore. We'd come here again, but there are about 53 other campsites nearby that probably hold treasures unfound. Jason made a fire and cooked up some conecuh sausage we gobbled up on crackers with Shepherds Cheese bought in Madison. One word: HEAVEN. Find you this cheese, y'all. It melts in your mouth! Later, we proved we could bike to showers at night on one whiskey drink each. We both slept like the dead to the hum of distant trains hauling things to places where people live.
